Deflock NJ is a collaboration of residents, activists, privacy advocates, and citizens concerned about all aspects of privacy and surveillance. Project was started and managed by the New Jersey Libertarian Party (NJLP). The NJLP has long advocated for citizens who "watch the watchers" through their Open Government Advocacy Project and their Police Accountability Project. Flock mapping and inspiration provided by DeFlock.org. We have no other connection with DeFlock.org. We are committed to liberty and privacy.
Our Mission
Privacy protections have been eroded over time. Government agencies routinely use electronic and other means of surveillance of an individual’s actions and private property. Correspondence, bank and other financial transactions and records, doctors’ and lawyers’ communications, employment records, and the like have become open to review by government without a warrant signed by a judge, for no other reason than the individual might commit a crime in the future. Our mission is to oppose government surveillance in all forms.
We shall use our platform to spread information to citizens and elected officials.
